Ben had his first project to complete for school this year. They were each asked to select an animal and report about several aspects of the animal in the format of their choosing. They could do a poster, a diorama, a book, a mobile, etc. Ben chose Power Point. Surprise, surprise - a way to get computer time! :) Ben also chose an interesting animal - the snow leopard! We got books from the library and Ben marked all of the important facts and details he wanted to share. One book gave especially age appropriate descriptions and compared the animal's height to a third grader and shared the fact that it could leap as long as a school bus. Ben loved these and immediately worked with Dad to make graphics to show these facts. He made the snow leopard jump over a school bus in an animation and put a picture of himself as just shorter than a snow leopard. It was a big hit and really gave Ben pride. Yea for assignments that allow the kids to show their knowledge in a way that appeals to them individually!
