Ben completed four egg hunts this year! We have been talking about Easter for a while and Ben kept asking "Where's my Easter?". Well, it is finally here! The Thursday before Easter Ben had an egg hunt at school on their playground. He was very excited to find the eggs and came home with lots of fun treats.
We all stayed home on Good Friday since the school was closed. We had a really nice day and enjoyed a fun play date with our special church friends, Owen and Kate. The boys played near/with each other. They had a great time! Kate and Elizabeth were not quite on the same schedule so when one had wide eyes, the other was sleeping and vice versa. Ben has been talking about Owen ever since showing us the seat he used at our kitchen table for lunch and where Owen's mommy sat, etc. That just means we will have to play again soon!
Saturday included our regular trip to Walmart for groceries and such. But after nap we had a special treat and got to go to a friend's birthday party. Ben was a little overwhelmed by all of the people, but enjoyed the water table in their backyard, a Thomas the train cupcake and half of a hotdog. A total success of a party! He had such a good time that when he woke up on Easter Sunday he decided he would be wearing his party hat to church.
The Easter Bunny came to our house, but we didn't quite have enough time before church to
look at what he brought. So we headed to church first (with Ben in his party hat) and had our second egg hunt at church after service. Ben came home with a bucket full of eggs and way too many treats! We convinced him to settle in for a nap and then he woke up to egg hunt #3 in his playroom. The Easter bunny was quite crafty and found some great hiding places among his toys. Ben enjoyed having Sister watch him find all the eggs and helped her look through her basket of goodies as well.
This Saturday was the final egg hunt, but well worth waiting for. We all got to go to Coweta to GrammaLyn's and GranpaDavid's annual egg hunt. Our friends Abigail and Claire got to come in town for this event as it has become a tradition for our families to share in. It was so fun to see the kids all together! There were so many eggs and the kids got most of them "hunted" prior to the rains that came. Then we headed inside for lots of play time! Ben is still calming down from all of this excitement and getting to play with his buddy Abigail.
Pictures coming soon!
