Ben: Three Months

Ben isn't quite three months, but we will be travelling that day so I thought I would write. We have had a busy December already.
Daycare is going well. He had his first "performance" for Christmas. His class was pushed in to the sanctuary in their buggy strollers while the audience sang Joy to the World. Later that weekend he played Jesus in the children's program at church. He was wide eyed the whole time, but didn't make a peep (a big relief to mom). The kids thought it was fun to have a real baby on stage. He was so popular that Mary (Rebecca Mathis) and Joseph (Parker Smith) had to play crowd control.
We had our first visit with Santa this week. We asked for lots of toys, books and maybe a little rest for Mom and Dad. We also made our first sick visit to the doctor. :( It was just a cold, but Mom and Dad wanted to be sure before the holiday weekend came. Because we went to the doctor we also found out that Ben weighs 15 lbs 3 oz now! No wonder Mom's arms get tired carrying him around.
Today we are packing to head to Kansas to be with Dad's family for Christmas. We will come back to Tulsa next week to celebrate with Mom's family. We look forward to Ben's first Christmas and enjoying the rest of the vacation days we have off to spend with him.
Merry Christmas!

Ben: Two Months

We wanted to send an update on Ben. More pictures will be following. We have had some camera issues and haven't been able to get them uploaded yet. I am hopeful that we will sometime this weekend or next week.

Ben is two months old now. He started smiling this month! He is tracking faces and most objects really well and is enjoying tummy time. He has pretty good head control and has the occasional roll over. He loves mirrors and will sit and just smile at himself. We are very much in love and enjoying each minute.

I started back to work on Monday and Ben started at daycare (First Christian Church in downtown Tulsa). He seems to like it and I am doing pretty well adjusting to the transition. He had his doctor's check up yesterday for his first round of immunizations. He weighed 13 lbs 14.5 oz (92%) and was 24.75 inches long (96%). He is definitely a growing boy! The doctor said Ben is very laid back and looks great. He does have mild excema, but other than that he is doing really well.

We had our first Thanksgiving dinners in Tulsa with my family and then headed to Brandon's grandparents in Kansas for the next couple of days. He did really well on the car trip. He slept the whole way! And he enjoyed meeting his great Aunt Marty and great Grandma and Grandpa Young.

We had a visit from our friend Abigail Coakley this week. She and Ben had a play date and look forward to seeing each other again soon.

We plan to get pictures of all these things out soon. Hope all is well with everyone!

Ben: One Month

Ben is one month old today! He seems to do something new and fun every day. He is able to pick up and turn his head during tummy time and even had an accidental rollover once. He is on a good schedule and eats about every 3.5 hours. He may move to every four hours pretty soon. This weekend we are going to try having him sleep in his room for the first time. We are all just doing great and really enjoying this time.
