Starting to Harvest

The bunnies have moved out and the garden is doing fairly well.  Everything is at least blooming if not producing.  We have enjoyed tomatoes already and are close to enjoying corn as well.  The beans and squash are flowering like crazy, so hopefully they aren’t too far behind.

Something we did not intend to "pick" this month were our two pear trees in the front yard.  The wind took them out and Dad and Grandpa spent lots of time to get them properly removed.  We'll be looking to replace them hopefully next spring with something heartier of course.

Ben Swims

Ben's flying leap into the water

After Ben’s Miller swim lessons ended, he was able to sign up for a two week session through his school with Ms. Jane.  The school bussed him to Wright Christian Academy every day and he swam with Ms. Jane and other teachers each morning.  Mom got to watch on the last day.  On that day he was keeping his head up and really struggling to make it very far.  Ms. Jane pulled Mom aside and said, yesterday he was swimming the width of the pool.  But we taught him how to come up for a breath so he could go farther and now that is all he wants to do!  :)  He’ll figure it out and hopefully we’ll enjoy more pool time this summer.

Tea Party!

Elizabeth, Mom, and Grandma Lyn got to attend a Fancy Nancy tea party at Elizabeth’s school.  It was very cute and intended for girls of all ages.  There were fancy sandwiches, cupcakes and ice cream sundaes.  Everything was delicious and E gobbled up her icing and ice cream.  There were several crafts to make and a reading of a Fancy Nancy book.  There were even door prizes and E’s number was pulled!  Between that and all of the other giveaways, we went home with quite the haul of jewels, candies and trinkets.  We are looking forward to participating again next year for sure!!  Maybe E will agree to have her picture taken with the professional photographer next time.  :)
