What is your favorite toy? Fire truck (This was her answer although really she loves her dollies and babies. She had recently played with a fire truck of Ben's though and had a lot of fun with it.)

What is your favorite fruit? Strawberry

What is your favorite TV show? Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch? Meatloaf (She claimed she loved to eat meatloaf at school, which she probably does. But normally she would choose chicken patty or chicken nuggets as her first choice.)

What is your favorite outfit? My Cinderella costume

What is your favorite game? Memory

What is your favorite snack? Cheezits

What is your favorite animal? Monkey!

What is your favorite song? Jesus Loves Me

What is your favorite book? Don't have one.

Who is your best friend? Miss Katie (Mom) - what a sweet girl! Mom had no idea!

The Sound of Music

Over the Black Friday sales, Mom found some deals on movies that couldn't be passed up. One of the movies is The Sound of Music. We thought that Ben was close to being old enough to watch it and that Elizabeth (like nearly everything else) would just be along for the ride. Mom thought the kids would start the movie, get bored, and have to wait a year or two to try it again. Well, we have now seen it nearly four times since it went into the DVD player on our trip home from Kansas. Ben knows several of the songs and Elizabeth tries her best to keep up. So if you see Ben and he belts out "How do you solve a problem like Maria?", please don't laugh but encourage his love of singing. It is so funny to hear him racing his cars down the hall singing "Doe a deer, a female deer".

While Elizabeth hasn't quite caught as many words she still enjoys the music and the kids. Her style of singing can be less structured sometimes as this morning she was belting out "WE ARE HAPPY" over and over again. Maybe it is a real song that she learned at school (because she also sings a lot of those), but it was new to us. Glad that we are happy though. :) We'll be shopping for more kid's music (and musicals!) in the months to come. I think Mary Poppins is next if Mom gets her way. :)

Happy New Year!

The new year started well and there is so much to look forward to as well as remember in 2011. We are anticipating another fun year watching the kids grow and learn and for our family to be able to make more memories and have more adventures now that the kids are getting bigger.

Soon we will have a three year old in our house and will be leaving behind the toddler stage. It is bittersweet of course, but mostly so exciting about all of the adventures we'll be having with a preschooler and nearly elementary kiddo. We're in the thick of planning a Mickey birthday party for Elizabeth. We look forward to learning more about Ben's new school as he will start elementary this fall. He is going with such an awesome foundation from his preschool and we cannot wait to see what new adventures he will have.
