Swim Lessons

Ben is enrolled in swim lessons for April and May so he can get more comfortable in the water before the summer starts. He is in a class with three little girls and has a very sweet teacher, Miss Haley. It is really fun to watch from the observation room. Safety Week was hard on Mom when the put life vests on and then loaded up in a canoe in the pool. The teachers slowly sank the canoe and had the kids try to get out and float on their backs while trying to get to the edge. Ben thought it was fun at least and now knows the importance of life vests. Mom is ready to get back to the regular stuff though. Ben is doing great learning his kicking, "rowing" and trying to get used to having his face in more.

Sprouts

We found a new play place at the end of March that is the best invention ever! There is a great play area for kids 5 and under and an art area for all ages of kids that is staffed with grownups to facilitate play and crafts. It is attached to a restaurant that serves yummy deli type foods and coffees where parents can relax and enjoy a break but not have to actually leave their kids. Mom and Ben explored Sprouts Play Café with his friend Jackson and Jackson's mom. It was a hit with both boys and we hope to go back soon. Hopefully the idea will catch on and they will build one closer to our house too!

March Sadness?

Well, March Madness didn’t end the way we wanted, but we still had fun watching all of the games. We were worried about Ben watching KU lose. He sort of checked out during the game and started playing a game on Mom's phone. Then later he said he would just cheer for the team in white and pretend it was KU. He quickly chose other teams and started talking about watching KU in baseball season. So adapting! KU baseball will be on TV in a few more days and he is looking forward to cheering them on.
