Concert Groupies

We haven't taken Ben and Elizabeth to many concerts due to their ages, but there was a Christian band that we all enjoy coming to Owasso in February and Mom was determined that they could handle it.  They did pretty well.  They both had ear plugs "in case" and used them some.  They were so excited that we were at a concert and really got into it.  Granted, it was not the normal concert scene.  It was a church sanctuary.  But they had the lights down and it was crowded and loud.  Elizabeth was on an aisle and really wanted to dance with Mom most of the time.  Ben just jammed and enjoyed rocking out.

At intermission, they talked about a ministry that sponsors kids overseas with living needs and bible teaching.  They asked for people to raise their hands if they wanted to sponsor a child and receive a kit.  Ben immediately asked if he could raise his hand.  We told him we would pay for him to sponsor a child, but he would have to raise his hand and talk to the people passing them out.  He got his brave on and did it.  And God blessed him with a little boy who is 7 and loves soccer.  There was a stack of all ages, both genders, all interests, etc and he got a boy that was his age with his interest.  Ben beamed and was so excited that God had blessed him with his willingness to give.  Hopefully that is a memory he tucks away forever.  Since the concert we hear Rend Collective on the radio and both kids recognize it as the band we saw.  Ben has also started corresponding with his new friend occasionally and seriously studies any literature that the company sends us as a sponsor family.
