Celebrating Three!

Elizabeth’s birthday was on a Friday and we got to celebrate at school by sharing cupcakes with friends. Elizabeth invited Mom, Dad, and Brother to come to her class and we all enjoyed some special play time with her buddies. She was so proud when they sang to her and really enjoyed that Brother got to sit next to her at her table.

Elizabeth requested Pei Wei (“chicken and noodles”) for birthday dinner so we picked that up on our way home from school. After dinner we did a couple of presents and led Elizabeth to her new doll house. She was so excited and raced to get some princess dolls from her room to play with. She plans to share the doll house, but for now she is pretty guarded with her new toy. She even hid a third doll that she didn’t have hands for so no one would try to play with her. :)

Saturday morning we celebrated with family and a few friends at her Mickey Mouse themed brunch. Dad served up Mickey Mouse pancakes and several other brunch dishes that seemed to be a hit with the kiddos. The kids played for a bit after eating and then we did cupcakes. Elizabeth specifically requested black cupcakes with black frosting which apparently is what she calls chocolate. A girl after her mom’s heart! We sang and E got embarrassed or upset. So she let a friend blow out her candle while she buried her head for a minute. When cake was served she managed to sit in Grandma’s lap and slowly savor her chocolate. By present time, she was back in the game and did really well with the attention. This girl loves to open pretty packages. She also loves cards. Everyone got an exclamation of “how pretty” or “how cute” and a wide eyed surprised face at how she just couldn’t believe how wonderful they were. It was pretty sweet. She is a very blessed little girl and enjoyed celebrating with so many. When we woke up on Sunday she asked when her next birthday was (which means party). We had to tell her it would be in a year but that she would get to go to other people’s parties in the meantime. She loves her some cake and celebrating!
